Elena Raffetti
Assistant professor
Elena is a medical doctor with extensive expertise in public health, epidemiology, and health data science. After completing her medical training in Italy, she earned a PhD from Karolinska Institutet in 2021. She then pursued post-doctoral research in Health Data Science at the University of Cambridge and in Natural Hazards at Uppsala University.

Edoardo Pavoni
Project Coordinator
Edoardo is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at IU University, coming from a career as a professional athlete. He joined our team in June 2024 to support project goals and ensure timely deliverables, bringing a unique perspective shaped by his experience in high-performance environments.

Shivang Pandey
PhD Student
Shivang, a former Research Assistant at Uppsala University, has also worked for the United Nations on sustainability initiatives, applying his technical expertise in climate science and AI to tackle global challenges. He joined our team in November 2024 to focus on the health impacts of hydroclimate extremes in the context of ongoing adaptation efforts.

Ricardo Berenguer Navarro
PhD Student
Ricardo earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Mathematics from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, before completing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at Columbia University in 2022. He has gained research experience at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III in Madrid, where he contributed to prostate cancer studies, and at Columbia University as a research assistant. From 2023 until joining our team, he worked as an associate applied biostatistician at Red Door Analytics in Stockholm. Ricardo became part of the group in April 2025 to investigate the future impacts of climate extremes on public health.

Manuel Marcellini O Nocentini

Manuel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Florence in 2022 and completed his Master’s degree in Statistics at Stockholm University in 2024, where he also worked as a Teaching Assistant. He joined the group in January 2025 to study the impact of climatic factors on early life.

Master student
Markus has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from his studies at the Technical University of Munich. Currently, he is a Master’s student of Public Health Sciences at Stockholm University. After joining the group in July 2025, he worked on studies with a focus on (compound) climate extremes and their impact on human health as well as how climate extremes possibly interact with risk perception and sentiment following climate extremes.
